Farewell Speech By Mercy Omoifo-Irefo

Distinguished Professional,

I am delighted to present myself this last day in office as your president. We spent time together building our chapter this year 2020-2021. And we did so well. We set our Aim and objectives and I am glad to say, we achieved and exceeded them all. 

I remembered coming to you at the beginning of the year to plead with you all to join me in building the chapter. At the beginning, leading you looked like an impossible task in the mist of the pandemic. I am delighted to say that we got support, from you all. 

Indeed it was a great privilege to serve you. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to serve as your president this chapter year. Your effective collaboration, strengthen our value and promoted our great society and I am proud to say we have grown bigger and better. Looking forward to greater height and more achievement. 

I will be rendering my stewardship account on the 3rd of July, 2021 at the handing over ceremony thereafter share the report with us all. 

Words are not enough to express my profound gratitude to you all. Thank you all for the roles you played in working with us to promote our society. Let us continue to dedicate ourselves, time and sacrifice in making the world a safer and healthier place. Let us be dedicated and passionate in Promoting Safety in Nigeria and beyond. 

As safety professionals, let’s continue to put in our passion to bare; everyday protecting, saving lives and improving workplace performance. ” As safety professionals,” We are a gift to every  Nation ” Let’s preserve and treasure this gift!!.

Let’s continue our good works aiming to build our society and sustain the structures we have put in place. I urge more people to get involved in volunteering and bringing their potentials together to build a safer and stronger future. 

Thank you for giving me and my executives (Executives of 2020-2021 chapter year) this great opportunity to serve you. 

I appreciate everyone of you most specifically, my team members elected and appointed, leaders, donors and all who participated in the chapter year activities, all who joined ASSP-NC and for members who renewed their membership and advocated for safety. Countless thanks to you all.

I will always be around and continue to play my part in promoting growth of ASSP – NC. I humbly say once more, “Thank you”.
