On July 12th, 2025, the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) Nigeria Chapter held the successful inauguration ceremony and technical presentation session for its newly elected executives at Landmark Hotels, Port Harcourt.
The event was a significant milestone in our journey to strengthen safety advocacy in Nigeria, honored by the presence of the Hon. Commissioner for Minerals and Industry, Imo State, alongside key stakeholders from the oil and gas industry, representatives of the Nigerian Ports Authority, and esteemed safety professionals.
The inauguration reaffirmed our shared commitment to promoting safety excellence and fostering deeper cross-sector collaboration. The newly elected executives were formally introduced, with the President, CHARLES OSUJI delivering an inspiring acceptance speech. He outlined the society’s strategic focus for the year and called for active partnerships to drive impactful change.
This year’s theme, “Driving Safety Beyond Compliance: Inspiring Commitment and Sustainability,” sets the tone for a transformative tenure aimed at elevating safety culture across all sectors.
